About the role:
In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out overhaul and repair work across a large fleet of locomotives, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
This is a hands-on role where you will play a critical part in keeping our locomotive fleet operating safely and efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
Performing overhaul and repair work on a variety of locomotives
Conducting servicing, dismantling, and inspections
Completing component change-outs and reassembly
Carrying out pneumatic system testing
Ensuring all work meets safety and compliance standards
Maintaining accurate records and documentation
This is a dynamic role offering variety, technical challenge, and the chance to work on specialised heavy equipment.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and upskill
High standards in record keeping and reporting
Ability to work shifts and overtime is essential.
Skills and Experience:
Mechanical Trade Qualification (essential)
Experience in heavy maintenance or asset management environments (highly regarded)
Knowledge of diesel or electric engines (desirable)
Locomotive experience a bonus—but not required
