Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Actuarial Systems team, where you will play a key role in delivering critical project work that supports liability and capital valuations, embedded value reporting, and business planning. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex actuarial systems initiatives that directly support strategic decision-making across the business.
In this role you will:
- Be responsible for developing and enhancing Prophet models to meet evolving business and regulatory requirements,
including implementing changes driven by new regulatory interpretations and recommendations from external advisory groups.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing modelling processes by refining Prophet models
- Enhancemodel point files using tools such as DCS and SQL
- Perform system testing activities (code compares, unit testing, regression testing, documentation)
- Provide end user support during UAT (explaining and demonstrating recent functionality)
- Drivegreater consistency across modelling methodologies through the harmonisation of key processes and assumptions.
Qualifications
- Tertiary degree in a financial discipline (preferably actuarial)
- Knowledge and experience with Prophet (programming language and software operation)
- Strong technical skills in programming and data analysis
- Understanding of risk products and the life insurance industry
- +3 years working experience, preferably in life insurance.
- Strong SQL and Excel skills
- Experience in designing or managing databases
- Working towards actuarial qualification (FIAA or equivalent)
- Experience with Atlassian software workflow and documentation tools – JIRA and Confluence
