- Assist Myrtle Cottage to pick up and drop off members to and from our premises and during outings.
- Assist Transport Coordinator to run daily errands such as Station pickup/drop and shopping.
- Retain appropriate level of vehicle licence required.
- Abide by the Road Transport Act 2013 which covers driving regulations and offences and you are responsible for any fines received whilst driving.
- Abide by NSW Government Passengers Transport Regulation 2017 and not carry additional members exceeding the vehicles legal carrying capacity.
- Follow directions provided on the Transport Run Sheet and seek clarification where required.
- Drivers are to refer all changes to transport runs etc pickup order, use of hoist, members requests to the Transport Coordinator.
- Drivers are not to divert from the usual run without approval from the Transport Coordinator.
- Welcome members by assisting them to and from the vehicles including the operation of wheelchair hoist.
- Secure wheelchair restraint systems consistent with operational guidelines.
- Ensure loose items such as walkers/wheelchairs/trolleys are secured with appropriate restraints available in vehicle.
- Where necessary ensure that a Bus Assistant is in attendance before departing for transport runs or outings. (The bus assistant's role is to assist Bus Driver by helping members onto and off the vehicle in a secure manner during transportation)
