As we continue to grow, we're looking for experienced CNC Machinists with milling and turning experience to join our high-performing manufacturing team at our Holden Hill facility.
About the Role
This is a full-time permanent night shift position based at our Holden Hill manufacturing facility.
Shift: 11:00pm – 7:06am
Successful applicants will complete their initial training on day shift before transitioning to permanent night shift once competent.
Working with modern CNC equipment, including advanced 5-axis technology, you'll manufacture precision components to exacting quality standards while contributing to innovative projects supporting Australia's defence and advanced manufacturing industries.
What You'll Be Doing
- Set up and operate CNC milling and turning machines
- Manufacture precision components from a variety of materials
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and job specifications
- Perform tool changes and tool wear offsets
- Make machine adjustments to optimise quality and productivity
- Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised work environment
- Work collaboratively with the manufacturing team to achieve production targets while maintaining quality standards
About You
To be successful, you'll have:
- Trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering (Fitter & Turner, Toolmaker, Machinist or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience operating CNC milling and turning machines (essential)
- Experience with CNC programming and editing
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience using precision measuring equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
Highly Desirable
- Experience operating 5-axis CNC machines, or a willingness to learn
- Experience operating Mill-Turn machines, or a willingness to learn
- Experience working within precision manufacturing, defence or aerospace industries
