As a Handyman & Village Support Officer - Retirement Living, you’ll be at the heart of maintaining a safe, clean, and well-presented village that residents are proud to call home. This hands‑on role is driven by a commitment to resident wellbeing and service excellence, combining cleaning responsibilities with a variety of maintenance, gardening, and community support activities. Working closely with the village team, you’ll help ensure the environment remains welcoming, functional, and enjoyable while making a meaningful difference in the daily lives of our residents.

You Will:

- Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the village and common areas
- Support general onsite maintenance and gardening activities
- Assist with the set-up and pack-down of activity rooms and village functions




- Support waste management processes and ensure work areas remain protected and organised
- Use cleaning equipment, chemicals, and personal protective equipment (PPE) safely and effectively
- Identify and report maintenance issues, hazards, and incidents in a timely manner
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide a safe, welcoming, and resident‑focused environment

What We're Looking For

- Experience in cleaning, maintenance support, gardening, or similar hands‑on roles
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- A proactive attitude and willingness to assist across a variety of tasks
- Understanding of workplace health and safety practices
- Current Driver's Licence and willingness to drive as part of the role

Essential Requirements

- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)
- Relevant probity checks in accordance with legislative and organisational requirements
