Keeden Contracting is seeking an On-Site Project Engineer (Civil Construction) to join our dynamic team. This is a full time position based in Orange, NSW, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to significant civil construction projects across the region. As an On-Site Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the planning, execution and delivery of construction projects, working closely with project managers, site teams and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role is ideal for an engineer who is passionate about civil construction and looking to make a tangible impact on infrastructure development in the central west of New South Wales.
Key responsibilities
Assist in the planning, design, and technical coordination of civil construction projects
Conduct site inspections and surveys to assess project conditions and identify potential challenges
Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and construction documentation
Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to coordinate project delivery
Track project progress, budgets, and timelines, providing regular reports to project management
Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during construction
Undertake site inspections and quality assurance checks to maintain project standards
Contribute to health and safety initiatives and ensure all site activities comply with relevant legislation
Support the estimation and planning of future projects
What we’re looking for
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution
Professional recognition as a Graduate Member or Chartered Professional with Engineers Australia (or equivalent)
2-5 years of post-graduation experience in civil construction or project engineering
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and best practices
Proficiency in relevant software including AutoCAD, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Sound understanding of relevant building codes, standards, and safety regulations
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to work on-site and travel to project locations as required
