The Queensland Institute of Dermatology (QIDerm) is a not-for-profit organisation committed to providing outstanding dermatology services to the general community.
We recognise that patients are our most important asset, and we are committed to providing them with compassionate health care in a technologically advanced environment.
As a teaching institute, QIDerm provides education in medical dermatology to promote an advanced understanding of the dermatology specialty and contributes to the development of future dermatologists in association with the Australasian College of Dermatologists.
Our team of 11 Dermatologists, 4 Registrars and 6 Nurses provide medical and surgical dermatology services to private, DVA and ADF patients.
We are a supportive, happy and focused team of professionals that make coming to work a pleasure.
Qualifications & experience
Current AHPRA registration as a Pharmacist and knowledge of all relevant industry regulatory and privacy legislation (essential)
Skilled indemnity insurance
Previous experience in a dermatology specialist practice or minimum 2 years post-graduate experience (preferred, not essential)
Experience with lasers used in medical dermatology (with relevant laser licence or ability to obtain) (advantageous, but not essential)
Experience working with Xestro software (preferred)
Current First Aid or CPR certification
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, displaying a professional, warm,
compassionate, friendly and respectful manner towards patients
A proactive approach and commitment to continued professional development
Excellent organisational, problem solving and time-management skills
Tasks & responsibilities
Availability to work Monday, Wednesday and Thursday
Assist Dermatologists and Registrars with clinical consultations and surgical procedures (if you have prior experience)
Assist with patient services including allergy patch testing, photodynamic therapy (PDT), UVA/B phototherapy, Sonoca, PRP and laser treatments
Prepare patients for consultations and procedures, including consent and explanation of processes.
Ensure patient dignity, comfort, and safety are maintained at all times - including before, during, and after procedures.
Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all required instruments and equipment are available, functioning correctly, reporting faults as required (if you have prior experience)
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, infection control, cold-chain management and organisation in clinical areas.
Assist with accurate documentation of procedures, patient information, and clinical notes.
