- Clerk Grade: Level 9/10. Base salary $133,348 p.a. to $146,945 p.a. plus 12% superannuation and annual leave loading.

The Legal, Governance and Risk divisionprovidesa wide range of enabling services including legal, genealogy, governance risk and compliance, information and privacy, and policy and performance.

About the role
The Manager, Fraud Detection and Analysis plays a critical leadership role in safeguarding the integrity of NSW Trustee and Guardian’s financial and operational systems.



The role is responsible for leading the proactive detection, analysis and prevention of fraud, financial crime and corruption across the agency, using contemporary data analytics, technology and investigative methodologies.

You will have accountability for leadership and management of the team’s operations, performance targets and service delivery, including staff allocation, monitoring and reporting on performance, and the exercise of relevant financial and human resources delegations.

- The day-to-day responsibilities include but not limited to:
Identify and assess current and emerging fraud and corruption risk trends.
- Establish, review and optimise fraud detection rules to minimise false positives and false negatives.
- Monitor transactions and activities, uplift alert systems, and analyse transactional patterns to identify potentially fraudulent activity.
- Triage and investigate flagged activities and transactions in line with the fraud and corruption control plan.
- Continuously improve fraud detection models and processes in response to emerging patterns.
- Support the development of preventative and detective controls across financial management processes.
- Generate regular reporting on fraud metrics, trends and incident responses for internal stakeholders.

About you

- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability to interpret complex data and generate insights.
- Has experience in fraud detection, financial crime, or data analytics
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical judgement in line with public sector values.
- Ability to deliver customer-focused outcomes and continuously improve services using data insights.
- Strong understanding of financial processes and risk management principles.
- Capability to use and leverage technology and analytics tools to improve organisational outcomes.
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop people, driving team performance and capability uplift.
