About the team / About the role:
Reporting to theCommunityFundraising Unit Manager,this position sits within theCommunityFundraising unit of theMarketing & Fundraising Division (M&F;)atCancer CouncilNSW.TheCommunity Fundraisingunitworks at a local level to form sustainable relationshipsanddeliverNFPsectorleadingfundraising events/campaignsto ensuregrowth and sustainability of our fundraising portfolio.
This role will manage a team of community fundraising staffbasedacrossfourCancerCouncilofficesin NSW,tosupport the developmentof,andoperationalise the community fundraising strategy,leadtheteam todeliver events andcampaigns,andmanagekeystakeholders to achieve community fundraising budgets.
The role will also lead the team to achieveadditionalsuccess measures such as supporter engagement,retentionand acquisition KPIs to build andmaintainsustainability for the organisation.
Please note thisis a12monthparental leave cover role – ending September 2027.
Given the Community FundraisingCoastalTeam islocated across our CCNSW offices in Erina, Kotara, Port Macquarie and Byron Bay, we are versatile as to which of these locations the Community Fundraising Lead role is based in,notingthat travel to all of theseofficesand communitiesthroughout the yearwill berequired

Key responsibilities of the role:
- Lead a team in delivering community fundraising campaigns and events that generate revenue and build trust with supporters in community to ensure a loyal and enduring connection with CCNSW
- Lead, drive and be accountable for community fundraising portfolios in line with agreed targets and budgets
- Support the development and implementation of community fundraising operational plans to ensure CCNSW is relevant to local communities through; Engaging communities and stakeholders to support CCNSW via partnerships,fundraisingand volunteering
- Effectively manage a team of 4-8 staff members based across multiple Cancer Council offices
- Manage key relationships across multiple communities in NSW
- Consistently implement and support CCNSW’s brand and communication strategies and plans
- Ensure staff engage and inspire community within their area of responsibility to deliver an outstanding fundraising experience
About you:
- Demonstrated understanding of community fundraising practices and principles
- Experience in people leadership including team development, performance management and motivation of employees and volunteers
- Ability toidentify, develop and manage relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders across diverse sectors toassistin achieving community fundraising objectives
- Ability to actively plan and make recommendations to ensure continual improvement in operational delivery
- An ability to travel extensively throughout NSW communities and work flexible hours, including weekends
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams across multiple locations
- Qualifications or experience in fundraising, business or event management disciplines
