Junior Automotive Mechanic - Full-Time, Monday to Friday

Hybrid Rentals is seeking a Junior Automotive Mechanic to join our growing team in Riverwood, NSW. This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, offering an excellent opportunity to develop your mechanical skills within a supportive and professional environment. As a Junior Automotive Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a diverse fleet of vehicles. This role is integral to ensuring our rental vehicles remain in optimal condition, safe for customers, and ready for deployment. You will work alongside experienced technicians who will mentor you in developing your technical expertise and industry knowledge.

Key responsibilities

- Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups, and tyre rotations
- Conduct vehicle inspections and diagnostics to identify mechanical issues and faults
- Repair and replace vehicle components including brakes, suspension, belts, hoses, and other mechanical parts
- Document work completed and maintain accurate service records for all vehicles attended to
- Assist experienced mechanics on more complex repairs and learn advanced diagnostic techniques
- Ensure all work is completed to high safety and quality standards in compliance with industry regulations
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment and manage tools and equipment responsibly
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding job progress and any issues encountered
- Support the team in meeting service schedules and vehicle turnaround targets

What we're looking for

- At least 2 years experience working in an automotive repair shop
- Valid driver's licence with a good driving record
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills




- Ability to work accurately and safely with hand and power tools
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills
- Willingness to learn and develop technical knowledge under guidance from senior technicians
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining professional standards
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Physical fitness to perform tasks that may involve bending, lifting, and working in various positions
- Familiarity with workshop management systems and digital vehicle diagnostics tools is advantageous
