Be part of the team that helps give Central Queensland’s tiniest patients the strongest start in life. This is more than a neonatal nursing role - it’s an opportunity to become an integral part of a connected, multidisciplinary team where your expertise, compassion and clinical knowledge directly influence outcomes for babies and their families. With neonatal nursing experience highly regarded, this role is ideal for a Registered Nurse ready to bring their skills, grow their practice and make a meaningful difference at the very beginning of life.

About us:

Rockhampton Hospital's Maternity Service is the heart of maternity care in Central Queensland, supporting around 1,400 births each year. As the region's main birthing hub, it provides comprehensive care from pregnancy through to birth and postnatal support, with specialised services including antenatal care, a dedicated Birth Suite and a Level 4 Special Care Nursery for babies requiring extra support. Working closely with community partners, the team is committed to delivering safe, coordinated and family-centred care at every stage of the maternity journey.

About the role:

- Deliver high-quality, holistic and family-integrated nursing care to neonates within a collaborative interdisciplinary team.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based care, responding confidently to changes in a baby's condition.
- Promote learning through education, mentoring and the application of current research to enhance patient care and outcomes.

- Provide clinical leadership by working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to improve care pathways and deliver exceptional outcomes for babies and their families.

About you:

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and a valid annual practising certificate (mandatory); a minimum of two years' neonatal nursing experience is highly desirable.
- A relevant neonatal qualification, or a commitment to working towards one, is preferred.
- Strong teamwork and leadership skills, with the ability to build respectful relationships and resolve conflict collaboratively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive therapeutic relationships with patients, families and colleagues.
- A genuine commitment to delivering safe, compassionate and high-quality care that achieves the best possible outcomes for patients and families.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $127,861 p.a. is comprised of:

- An hourly rate between $44.06 - $56.51 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading

Additional Benefits:

- Ongoing Career development and Education Opportunities
- Professional Development Allowance
- Professional Development Leave
- Flexible Work-Life Balance and Variety
