Community Engagement & Volunteer Coordinator

Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women's Shelter (HKWS) is seeking a skilled and innovative Community Engagement & Volunteer Coordinator work with the team and volunteers, manage physical donation enquiries and to help shape the Hub and Shelter's future.

This role is available part time, 24 hours per week.

This is a unique opportunity to join a values-driven organisation committed to breaking the cycle of domestic and family violence (DFV). Working as part of a growing, passionate team, you will facilitate the recruitment and on boarding of volunteers, manage the volunteer program, foster strong community partnerships, and contribute directly to improving outcomes for women and children affected by DFV.

You will work collaboratively with staff and leaders of HKWS providing services including crisis accommodation, transitional housing and outreach support to women and children.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, the Community Engagement & Volunteer Coordinator will:

Facilitate and coordinate group programs, community engagement and service collaboration.

Develop and nurture meaningful relationships with schools, corporates, local businesses, community groups and supporters.

Manage Volunteers onboarding and off boarding, communication strategies & program reviews.

Manage all physical donation enquires and appropriate distribution of goods received.

Contribute to program design and innovation based on client and community needs.

About You





You are experienced in people management and working with volunteers and a cooperative team player who builds lasting relationships with people from diverse backgrounds. You thrive in dynamic environments, care deeply about outcomes for women and children, and bring experience managing both people and programs.

You will have:

Leadership and supervision experience within community-based settings.

Experience building partnerships and working with external stakeholders.

Outstanding communicator and service based approach to program delivery.

An ability to work independently offsite, multitask and prioritise workloads.

A current unrestricted driver's licence and valid Working with Children and Police Checks.
