Practice Manager (Maternity Leave Cover - 15-Month Contract)
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced and motivated Practice Manager or Senior Medical Administrator to join our growing specialist medical practice on a 15-Month maternity leave contract, with a strong view to a permanent position for the right candidate.
This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role where you'll work closely with our Directors and Specialists to oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy, well-established practice. You'll lead our administrative and clinical support teams, drive operational excellence, and play a key role in delivering outstanding patient care while contributing to the ongoing growth of the business.
This is a Monday to Friday position with no weekend work, offering an excellent work-life balance. Our primary location is Hurstville, with occasional travel to our Kogarah and Randwick clinics as required.
Key Responsibilities
Practice Operations
- Oversee the day-to-day operations across all clinic locations.
- Ensure exceptional patient service and efficient clinic workflows.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Manage practice facilities, equipment and resources.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor and support administrative and clinical support staff.
- Manage staff rostering, leave and workforce planning.
- Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, training and performance reviews.
- Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture.
Financial Management
- Oversee billing, invoicing, banking and accounts processes.
- Monitor budgets and practice expenditure.
- Ensure accurate Medicare, Workers Compensation, CTP and private billing.
- Assist with financial reporting and business performance.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- Previous experience as a Practice Manager or Senior Medical Administrator.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Experience within a specialist medical practice or healthcare environment.
- Sound knowledge of medical billing and practice management systems.
- Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently and effectively manage competing priorities.
- Flexibility to travel between practice locations when required.
- Availability to assist with occasional after-hours work if operational needs arise.
- A professional, patient-focused approach and commitment to high-quality service.
