Overview

The MindChamps Music Teacher role involves delivering engaging, age appropriate music lessons to preschool children aged 18 months to 5 years. The teacher guides children in developing musical skills through singing, instruments, rhythm, and music literacy while creating a positive and nurturing learning setting.

The role includes lesson planning, progress tracking, preparing performances, and collaborating with educators to integrate music into children’s overall learning and development. The ideal candidate is a passionate, creative, and patient music educator with strong musical ability and experience working with young children.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging and age-appropriate music lessons aligned with the MindChamps Music curriculum for preschool children aged 18 months to 5 years.

Introduce children to essential musical concepts including music literacy, singing, rhythm, percussion, keyboard, recorder, and violin.

Design, plan, and implement creative lesson activities that support children’s musical, cognitive, social, and emotional development.

Create a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment where children feel encouraged to explore, participate, and express themselves through music.

Monitor, assess, and document children’s progress through observations, checklists, photographs, and developmental records.

Prepare lesson resources, simple music arrangements, and activities for school celebrations, performances, and year-end concerts.

Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate music into interdisciplinary learning experiences and enhance children’s overall development.

Build strong relationships with children, colleagues,



and families to support a positive learning experience.

Participate in centre events, team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.

Support daily centre operations and carry out other duties as assigned to contribute to the success of the learning environment.

Key Requirements

Diploma, professional certification, or equivalent qualification in Music (e.g., ABRSM, Trinity, or equivalent).

Demonstrated proficiency in at least one musical instrument, with skills in multiple instruments such as piano, violin, guitar, or ukulele considered an advantage.

Knowledge of early childhood music education approaches, Solfege, Suzuki Violin Method, or keyboard instruction is beneficial.

Previous experience teaching music to young children, preferably within a preschool, classroom, or group learning environment.

A genuine passion for early childhood education and the ability to inspire children through engaging musical experiences.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.

Creative, energetic, patient, and adaptable with the ability to cater to different learning styles and abilities.

A collaborative team player who is committed to creating a positive and supportive learning environment.
