As General Manager, you will set the tone for the property, leading the pre-opening team that’llshape and launchMODE by YHA!

Your Responsibilities:

- Leader mode: foster a culture of teamwork, excellence, and continuous improvement through theprovision of effective leadership and guidance.
- Forecast, monitor, and control wage costs through effective rostering, ensuring a focus on guest experience, employee engagement, and health & safety.
- Guest mode: ensure an exceptional guest experience bymaintaininghigh standardsof service, cleanliness, comfort, and connection.
- Overallfinancial managementof the entire property operations.
- Connect mode: establishpositive relationships with local authorities, stakeholders, tourism boards, and community organisations.




- Ensure a consistent and active experience that connects guests to each other and the local community.
- Business mode: preparation of business plans,capex plans,budgets,review ofkey performance indicators, financial reporting, and capital expenditure to ensure effective cost control and profitability.
- In collaboration with the commercial team, develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to maximise revenue.
- Safety mode: build and maintaina robust health, safety and ESG focus.
- Drive F&B; promotion and social mediastrategyto increase awareness, experience and revenue.

Your skillsand qualifications:

- Proven experience as a General Manager in a hotel or a co-living/hostel environment
- Pre-opening experience, with the ability to build a team from the ground up
- Strong operational background across food, beverage and rooms
- Passion for people, hospitality and guest experience
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills
- Strong commercial acumen
- New South Wales Liquor Licensee qualifications, or the ability to obtain
