We specialise in Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel piping fabrication, which includes manufacturing associated structural steel fabrications and a broad range of project installations.
Role Description
We offer a Welding Supervisor QA/QC a full-time/contract position with our friendly management team.
The Welding Supervisor QA/QC will oversee all welding operations and provide technical guidance to our team of fabricators and welders. The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring the safety of all personnel, conducting quality checks, and ensuring that all welding work is completed as per specification, on schedule and within budget with assistance from project management.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ Years of Piping and Structural and welding supervision
- AS1796 Certificate 10 Welding Supervisor is preferred, although applicants with other suitable qualifications are encouraged to apply. IIW Qualifications welcome.
- Experience with STT(GMAW-S)/FCAW, GTAW and MMAW/SMAW is desirable.
Familiar with current Australian and International Standards
Standards including:
ASME IX / B31.3, AS3992 / AS4041, AS1554, AS2885, AS4458, AS4037
Intermediate - High computer skills i.e.
Microsoft Word, Excel, Project (not mandatory) & Outlook
CAD and Navisworks Model Review experience advantageous
Tasks & Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Create and Manage Weld maps including fabrication schedule and weld sequencing
- Produce Tracker spreadsheet and entry of Weld Traceability data (Date, ID, WPS, Heat numbers etc.)
- Welding inspection and dimensional checking
- Create and submit NDT requests
- WPS management and selection
- Assisting with MDR compilation (Complete in whole if competent)
- Drawing revision management
- Assist with estimating and scheduling
- Review NDT reports for compliance
- Welding consumable and material management
- Welding Supervision Records
