System Performance Support (SPS) is a branch within NSW Health that partners with health service executives, clinicians, and other Ministry teams to improve the performance and sustainability of health services across the state.

Specifically, you will be joining the State Operational Data Store (ODS) Program.

About the role

As Senior Manager, you will lead initiatives from conception through to implementation across the ODS Program.



This includes analysing and designing complex enterprise applications, managing delivery of custom health solutions that integrate with numerous systems, overseeing quality assurance, and supporting the evolution of data-enabled, AI-assisted and automated workflows that align with NSW Health’s key strategies and plans.

You will operate in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift quickly, working closely with clinical, operational, technical and executive stakeholders both internal and external to NSW Health. You will shape program direction, drive continuous improvement, and act as a key subject matter expert on custom built healthcare systems and statewide data driven tools.

The Health Manager level 5, starting salary from $180,279- $201,662 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 40 hour work week.

What you will do

- Lead planning, analysis, design, development, testing and continuous improvement of custom NSW Health enterprise systems.
- Lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of responsible data and AI-enabled workflows, including decision-support tools, automation, predictive analytics and emerging copilot-style solutions.
- Develop key deliverables including and not limited to Business Cases, Statements of Work, Requirements, Functional Designs, Process Maps, Change Impact Assessments and Data Dictionaries.
- Ability to facilitate interviews, focus groups and working groups with diverse stakeholder groups including clinical, operational, technical and executives both internal and external to NSW Health.
- Apply extensive leadership experience to untangle complex use cases and delivery risks, proactively managing competing priorities and negotiating pragmatic, system‑wide solutions with diverse stakeholders.

About you





- 10+ years’ experience as a Program Manager, Senior Project Manager or Senior Business Analyst in large and complex organisations.
- Strong experience translating business needs into functional and technical requirements for custom solutions used in a public health care setting.
- Demonstrated ability delivering full software development lifecycles using waterfall, agile or hybrid approaches.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, including working with challenging stakeholder groups.
- Experience designing, implementing or governing workflow automation, predictive analytics or AI-assisted processes, with an understanding of responsible AI, privacy, ethics and risk management in a public sector or health care context.
