Hemingway's Brewery is looking for an experienced Duty Manager to join our leadership team at our iconic Cairns Wharf venue.
This is an immediate start opportunity for the right person. If you're an experienced hospitality leader who can hit the ground running with minimal onboarding, we'd love to hear from you.
We're not simply looking for someone to supervise a shift—we're looking for someone who genuinely takes ownership of the venue during their shift and service, leads from the front and sets the standard for the team around them.
About You
We're looking for someone who has the fundamentals covered, but more importantly, the attitude to match.
You will have:
- Previous experience as a Restaurant or Duty Manager in a busy hospitality environment.
- Full Australian working rights.
- A current RSA.
- Outstanding work ethic and reliability.
- A genuine sense of ownership and accountability.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to lead by example.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A hands‑on approach to leadership.

While your primary home will be Hemingway's Brewery Cairns,
we operate several hospitality venues across the region and our leadership team occasionally supports other businesses within the group—most commonly SAILS Cairns.
This gives you the prospect to broaden your experience across two very different hospitality concepts. Hemingway's Brewery Cairns is one of Tropical North Queensland's busiest waterfront brewery restaurants, while SAILS is a casual yet refined bar and restaurant on the Cairns Esplanade, offering a different pace of service with a strong focus on premium food, cocktails and genuine hospitality.
