Medical Specialist Centre Receptionist - Part time

Medical Receptionist (Part time - 30-40 hours per fortnight) Immediate start

We're on the lookout for a friendly, reliable Medical Receptionist to join our team for 30-40 hours per fortnight (Monday and Tuesday 8:30-5pm with occasional fill in days as required). If you enjoy helping people, staying organised, and working in a busy but supportive setting, we'd love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing:

- Welcoming patients with a warm, friendly greeting
- Booking appointments for consults, follow-ups and surgeries
- Answering phones, responding to enquiries, and passing on messages accurately
- Keeping patient records organised and up to date
- Coordinating referrals to other healthcare providers
- Assisting admin tasks like scanning, data entry, typing, and preparing surgical quotes (training provided)
- Working closely with our medical team to keep things running smoothly
- Liaising with specialists, hospitals, and health funds
- Processing payments, including Medicare, ADF, DVA, and WorkCover




- Assisting senior reception staff with extra admin when needed
- Must have an understanding of privacy rules and a keen eye for detail
- Prior experience with Medicare, DVA, and WorkCover processing systems is ideal

What we’re looking for:

- Strong customer service experience (medical admin experience required)
- Warm, approachable communication and genuine empathy for patients
- Confident verbal and written English skills
- Great time management and the ability to manage complex tasks
- A positive and proactive "can-do" attitude
- Ability to stay calm and organised in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Xestro or similar medical software is a must
- Specialist practice medical administration experience is highly sought after
- Minimum 1-2 years of medical administration experience required

Australian citizenship is required for this position
