CN - Mackay Base - Continuing Care Team (Mental Health)

Mackay Base Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse (Grade 6) to join the Continuing Care Team within Mental Health at Mackay Community Health Centre. This is a six-week contract running from 10 August to 20 September 2026, with the possibility of extension. Working Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, you'll deliver community-based mental health care to a diverse caseload. The role offers up to 80 hours per fortnight on a salary of AUD73.35 to AUD80.94 per hour, with weekends and public holidays off.

Preferred Requirements





- Demonstrated experience in mental health community case management
- Competence in completing electrocardiograms (ECGs)
- Ability to administer intramuscular (IM) injections safely and confidently
- Sound knowledge of mental health assessment and care planning in a community setting
- Solid communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Qualifications

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Familiarity with Queensland Health systems, including ieMR and CHIMA database
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2016 and previous experience working within Queensland Health or Mackay Health and Hospital Service
