As our IT Security Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, monitoring and continuous improvement of CBHS security systems, controls and processes across the Information Security domain.

The IT Security Engineer is responsible for proactive and reactive threat mitigation, security control effectiveness, vulnerability management, incident response support and security improvement across the CBHS technology environment.

What You Will Be Working On

As a key part of our Information Services Security Team, your responsibilities will include:

- The ongoing development, implementation and maturity of the CBHS Information Security Management Strategy, including security operations, identity security, cloud security, vulnerability management, monitoring, incident readiness and risk-based control improvement.
- Maintaining the information security control environment and in doing so keep the information assets of CBHS and its members safe from unauthorised use.
- Working with other areas of the business, particularly Information Services, to ensure that all information assets are kept safe whilst minimizing business disruption and optimising productivity in accordance with approved policy and the information security agreed risk appetite.

You’ll bring:

- 3+ years’ experience in a security analyst or security engineer role or equivalent
- 3+ years’ experience as a Systems Administrator / Engineer within a medium sized Information Technology Team.
- Experience in systems administration, network engineering or security engineering, including building, maintaining and securing servers, firewalls, switches, endpoints and related infrastructure.




- Experience supporting technical investigations across Windows, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, email, network, endpoint, cloud and security monitoring environments.
- Experience using and maintaining security tools such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, incident response tools, intrusion prevention systems, email security, network access control, vulnerability management and security monitoring platforms.
- Experience implementing new security tools such as PAM, SWG, Application Allow‑Listing, etc.
- Experience implementing and supporting cloud technologies and platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.)
- Experience with identity security controls including Active Directory, Entra ID, MFA, conditional access, privileged access management, least privilege and access review processes.
- Experience with vulnerability management, risk‑based remediation tracking, security baselines and control validation activities.
- Practical scripting or automation experience, preferably using PowerShell, Python or similar tools to improve security operations and reporting.
- Experience writing IT documentation, IT policy and Training materials
- Understanding of security governance, risk, compliance and audit support activities, including evidence collection and control effectiveness reporting.
