Do you want to help shape some of Lake Macquarie's most exciting parks, public spaces and recreation destinations?

As a Landscape Architect in our Public Domain Design Team, you'll play a key role in creating places that enhance the everyday lives of our community. From concept design through to delivery, you'll contribute to projects that improve public spaces, strengthen connections to nature and help shape the future of our city.

Reporting to the Team Leader Landscape Design, you'll work across a diverse range of projects, combining creativity, technical expertise and project management skills to deliver high-quality landscape outcomes.

In this role you will:

- Investigate, plan and develop landscape design projects from concept through to construction
- Prepare landscape plans, specifications and documentation for approvals and delivery
- Create innovative design solutions for parks, streetscapes, open spaces and recreation facilities
- Manage projects, consultants, budgets and contracts to achieve successful outcomes
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to inform and refine designs
- Integrate environmentally sustainable design principles into projects
- Use contemporary design and drafting software to communicate ideas and develop project documentation
- Contribute to landscape strategies that support the beautification and enhancement of Council assets
- Maintain and update professional knowledge, skills and practices by reviewing current literature and attending relevant seminars or conferences.
- Navigate relevant regulatory and planning legislation and guidelines.

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical capability with a passion for creating outstanding public spaces.





To be successful in this role, you will have:
You will bring:

- A degree in Landscape Architecture, or equivalent qualification, with eligibility for membership of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects
- Experience working in a landscape design role
- The ability to develop innovative landscape design solutions for urban and recreation environments
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities
- Solid communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- High-level proficiency in computer-aided drafting software - preferably Vectorworks - Microsoft Office and presentation software
- A current driver's licence

Experience in project management, design management, contract management or local government will be highly regarded.

- Competitive salary from $98,091 to $113,998 a year plus 12% superannuation
