Kropp's Homestead Bakery is seeking a skilled Wholesale Baker to join our baking team on a casual basis. This role is based in Forest Glen, QLD 4556 and offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic bakery environment producing high-quality baked goods for wholesale distribution. As a Wholesale Baker, you will be integral to maintaining our reputation for excellence, ensuring consistent quality and meeting the demands of our wholesale clients. This position suits someone who is flexible, reliable, and passionate about traditional baking craftsmanship.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing and mixing ingredients according to established recipes and quality standards
- Operating and maintaining baking equipment, including ovens, mixers and other bakery machinery
- Monitoring baking times and temperatures to ensure products are baked to perfection
- Shaping, moulding and decorating dough and baked products as required
- Ensuring all baked goods meet our stringent quality and presentation standards
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the baking area in accordance with food safety regulations
- Managing inventory of baking materials and ingredients
- Collaborating with the team to meet wholesale order deadlines and volumes
- Following all health and safety procedures and company protocols
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a Baker or in a similar baking role, preferably in a wholesale or production environment
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients and products
- Ability to work with precision and maintain consistent quality standards
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform repetitive tasks and work in a warm baking environment
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Flexibility to work casual shifts as required by the business
- Reliability and a strong work ethic
- Certificate in Food Safety or equivalent would be advantageous
