Horizon Nexus Partners
Melbourne
At Horizon Nexus Partners, we are building something different.
Our mission is to become Australia's pre-eminent independent professional services firm- a firm that delivers exceptional outcomes for clients while creating an environment where talented people can thrive.
We believe great businesses are built through strong partnerships, entrepreneurial thinking, and a commitment to continuous improvement. As a fast-growing organisation, we combine the agility of a modern firm with the expertise and ambition needed to make a genuine impact.
Our culture is collaborative, high-performing, and refreshingly free from unnecessary hierarchy. We value initiative, curiosity, and people who are motivated to challenge the status quo and help shape the future of the business.
As we continue our growth journey, we're looking for an ambitious FP&A; Analyst to help build and elevate our Group Finance capability.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, this is far more than a traditional reporting role.
As FP&A; Analyst, you will play a key role in the evolution of Horizon's Finance function, helping to establish best-practice financial planning, analysis, and business partnering capabilities across the group.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders to transform financial data into meaningful commercial insights that support strategic decision-making. You'll also have the unique opportunity to help build reporting frameworks, dashboards, and processes from the ground up as the business continues to scale.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, is naturally curious about business performance,
and wants to be part of a team where their ideas and contributions genuinely matter.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop and maintain KPI dashboards, reporting packs, and management reports that provide actionable insights across the business.
- Analyse monthly financial performance, delivering budget versus actual variance analysis and clear commentary on key drivers.
- Support annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and long-range planning processes.
- Partner with stakeholders across the business to understand performance, identify trends, and provide commercial recommendations.
- Monitor key financial and operational metrics to support informed decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of monthly consolidated financial reports and executive management packs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance reporting, systems, and processes.
- Leverage finance systems, automation tools, and data analytics to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy.
- Support the implementation and optimisation of finance technologies as the organisation continues to grow.
- Respond to ad hoc financial analysis and business performance requests from senior leadership.
About You
You are analytical, commercially minded,
and excited by the opportunity to contribute to a growing organisation where you can see the direct impact of your work.
You'll bring:
- 4+ years' experience in a similar role
- CA qualification or active progress towards completion.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities.
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling and data analysis.
- Experience working with financial reporting systems, BI tools, or dashboarding platforms.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance and IT (highly desirable)
Why Join Horizon Nexus Partners?
At Horizon, you'll have the opportunity to build your career in a business that values ambition, initiative, and continuous development.
You'll benefit from:
- Exposure to senior leaders and decision-makers across the business.
- The opportunity to help shape and build a growing FP&A; function.
- A collaborative and supportive culture with direct access to leadership.
- Meaningful work that drives business performance and strategic outcomes.
- Ongoing professional development and career progression opportunities.
- A modern, entrepreneurial environment where excellent ideas are encouraged and rewarded.
If you're looking for a role where you can move beyond reporting, influence business decisions, and help build a best-in-class finance function, we'd love to hear from you.
