Looking to kick-start or continue your career in Queensland Government? We're recruiting a Business Support Officer to join a state government team in Cairns. About the Role
As an Administration Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of maintenance and building services across Far North Queensland. You'll provide high-quality administrative and customer service support while working closely with internal teams, contractors and stakeholders to ensure work is delivered efficiently.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Providing exceptional customer service via phone, email and face-to-face
- Managing incoming correspondence and responding to enquiries within required timeframes
- Preparing documents, reports and maintaining accurate records
- Updating information across Microsoft Office and internal systems (including Ellipse)
- Liaising with contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Assisting with general administration and continuously improving business processes
- Supporting the wider team to achieve KPIs and service delivery outcomes
About You
We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and enjoys working with people. You'll thrive in a busy environment and take pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work.
Ideally you'll have:
- Previous administration or business support experience
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a team
- Basic accounts knowledge (highly regarded but not essential)
