D&N; Geotechnical is a specialist geotechnical consultancy delivering site investigation, testing, and ground characterisation services for residential, commercial, infrastructure, and renewable energy projects.

We are seeking applications from motivated and reliable candidates to join our growing Brisbane team as a Geotechnical Site Technician / Drill Rig Operator. This hands‑on role is suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating specialised geotechnical equipment, and contributing to a diverse range of geotechnical and subsurface investigation projects across Queensland and Australia.

The primary focus of this position is operating dynamic probing and cone penetrometer testing (CPTu) equipment, as well as undertaking site investigations and geotechnical assessments that support residential, commercial, infrastructure, and renewable energy projects.

This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists while developing specialist skills in geotechnical site investigations and ground characterisation.

The key responsibilities of the role are:

- Safely operate and maintain drill rigs and associated equipment.
- Undertake geotechnical field investigations across a range of project types.
- Perform soil sampling, logging,



and field testing.
- Accurately record site observations and field data.
- Assist geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists during site investigations.
- Prepare field records, photographs, and site documentation.
- Ensure all works are completed in accordance with company HSEQ requirements and project procedures.
- Maintain a high standard of equipment presentation and housekeeping.

To be successful in this role you will possess:

- Experience operating geotechnical investigation equipment including drill rigs, dynamic cone penetrometers (DCP), or similar machinery.
- Mechanical aptitude and an interest in operating specialised field equipment.
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- A passion for working in the field.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to working within the company’s HSEQ system.
- A current Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Construction Industry White Card.
- Australian working rights.
