About You
You are an experienced operational leader who has managed frontline teams in a complex, asset intensive environment. A background in mining services, oil and gas, transport, logistics, infrastructure, industrial services, utilities, resources, facilities, equipment hire, construction services, manufacturing or another operationally demanding sector where safety, customers, assets, people and commercial performance all matter.
You are at your best close to the operation where you are visible in the field, comfortable with operators, drivers, technicians, supervisors and customers, and able to quickly understand what is happening on the ground. You know how to set standards, bring people together and ensure actions are followed through.
You are commercially capable and understand how operational decisions influence cost, margin, customer outcomes and profitability. You can work with commercial, sales, asset, safety and support teams to make sensible decisions about what work should be prioritised, optimised, restructured or discontinued.
You are not just an ideas person. You can take a complex operation, identify the real issues, prioritise what matters and build a practical plan that delivers consistent improvement. Most importantly, you are a hands on leader with resilience, energy and discipline. You can lead through complexity, rebuild confidence and create a stronger operating rhythm across multiple sites.
About the Opportunity
This Regional Operations Manager role leads a significant Northern Territory operation with responsibility across multiple sites. The role has a broad operational remit, including safety, service delivery, customer performance, workforce leadership, asset and equipment interfaces, commercial discipline and site standards.
This is a genuine turnaround and improvement opportunity. The business has scale, customers, assets and support, but requires stronger leadership, clearer accountability and more consistent execution across the region. The immediate focus will be to establish credibility with frontline teams, improve site standards, strengthen safety and service routines, rebuild customer confidence and create a practical operating rhythm that sticks.
You will work closely with local leaders and broader support functions across commercial, sales, assets, safety, administration and technical teams. Success will require both direct leadership and the ability to influence across a larger organisation. For someone who enjoys operational improvement and wants to make a visible impact, this is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a region, reset performance and build something stronger.
Why Apply
This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a meaningful regional operation and create visible impact quickly. The business has scale, customers, assets and support, but needs a leader who can reset the operating rhythm, strengthen frontline engagement and drive practical improvement across multiple sites. For someone who enjoys operational leadership, this is the kind of role where your contribution will be seen and valued.
The role also offers a genuine lifestyle opportunity. Darwin provides warm weather, short commutes, waterfront dining, outdoor markets, fishing, national parks and access to some of Australia’s most unique landscapes. It offers the chance to build a reliable career while stepping away from the congestion and cost pressures of larger cities.
Full relocation support is available for the right candidate, making this an attractive option for someone ready for a fresh start, broader leadership responsibility and a lifestyle change.
You must have unrestricted working rights in Australia to apply. As part of the process, pre-employment checks will be conducted.
