Most integration engineering roles involve supporting integrations someone else designed years ago.

This isn't one of them.

Our client is a member-owned financial services organisation dedicated to supporting government organisations across NSW. They are embarking on a major Microsoft transformation, replacing ageing business systems with contemporary Microsoft technologies.

The goal is simple: create a more connected environment where information moves reliably across the organisation.

At the centre of that investment is a new Azure integration capability. Rather than inheriting an existing environment, you'll help establish the Azure integration capability that connects new platforms from the very beginning.

Working alongside the Solution Architect, you'll remain hands-on throughout delivery, turning technical designs into reliable, production-ready integrations that support every major Microsoft platform introduced over the coming years.

If you enjoy solving complex technical problems and want to help shape a capability from day one rather than maintain what already exists, this is a rare opportunity to do exactly that.

What you'll be doing

You'll design, build and support the Azure integrations that connect core business systems.

Working across claims, CRM, digital platforms and other enterprise applications, you'll enable information to move securely and reliably between systems.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Building integrations using Azure API Management, Logic Apps, Service Bus and Event Grid
- Developing secure REST APIs and reusable integration patterns
- Delivering event-driven integrations across enterprise applications
- Connecting cloud,

SaaS and core business systems using Azure services
- Building CI/CD pipelines through Azure DevOps
- Monitoring, troubleshooting and improving integrations in production
- Producing documentation and supporting operational handover

You’ll stay involved from design through to production support, ensuring integrations remain secure, reliable and easy to support long after delivery.

What makes this opportunity different?

Many organisations rely on implementation partners to build integrations and then depend on them whenever changes are needed.

That’s not the approach here.

Implementation partners will play an important role in the broader programme, but the long-term vision is to build an internal engineering team that owns and evolves the integration environment. They want someone who understands how everything fits together, can challenge technical decisions when needed and becomes the person the business relies on for this capability.

You’ll work closely with architects, engineers and implementation partners while influencing how the integration environment is designed, evolves and is supported over time.

Because integrations sit across almost every major business system, you’ll gain exposure to technologies, stakeholders and transformation initiatives that few engineering roles can offer.

Why now?

The organisation is making a major investment in modernising its Microsoft environment, improving how information flows across the business and reducing reliance on legacy integrations.

With the programme only just beginning, you’ll help establish the integration capability before the major platform implementations begin. It’s a rare opportunity to influence the technical direction from the outset rather than inherit decisions made by others.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for an experienced Azure Integration Engineer who enjoys solving real business problems through integration.

You’ll ideally bring experience across:

- Azure Integration Services, including API Management, Logic Apps, Service Bus and Event Grid
- REST API development and modern integration patterns
- Azure DevOps, CI/CD and automated deployment practices
- SQL together with a scripting or development language such as C#, Python or PowerShell
- Working collaboratively with architects, engineers, business stakeholders and implementation partners

Experience integrating Dynamics 365, Dataverse or other enterprise SaaS platforms will be highly regarded, as will experience working within regulated or enterprise environments.

Next steps

This opportunity is offered as an initial 12-month Fixed Term Contract, with 50/50 hybrid working from the Sydney CBD.

While initially offered as a fixed-term contract, the organisation views this as a long-term capability and expects the successful candidate to play an ongoing role as the transformation progresses, creating a genuine pathway to permanency.
