Geotechnical Engineer - Sunshine Coast, QLD
Our client is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer (2+ years' experience) to join their well-established Sunshine Coast office for an immediate start.

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a diverse range of geotechnical projects while working in a close-knit team delivering major outcomes across urban development and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and undertake site investigation fieldwork, including supervising borehole drilling, test pits, instrumentation, site mapping, and in-situ testing
- Prepare technical reports, undertake analysis, and assist with geotechnical design under the guidance of senior engineers and geologists
- Carry out construction inspections
- Perform slope stability risk assessments and numerical modelling
- Conduct settlement analysis, including soft clay consolidation studies and preload design
- Design temporary works
- Assist with the preparation of fee proposals and tenders
- Investigate and manage acid sulfate soils, contaminated land, wastewater, and groundwater
- Receive ongoing mentoring and career development from experienced industry professionals
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills, with experience in software such as Microsoft Office, Slope/W, Settle3D, AutoCAD, Plaxis, and gINT preferred
- Experience planning and undertaking site investigations
- Exposure to slope stability assessments and/or soft clay settlement analysis is highly desirable
- Strong project and commercial awareness, including scope, budget, programme, and risk management
- Ability to provide practical geotechnical advice to multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Full Australian working rights
