About the Client

About the Position
Our client is looking for an Employment Lawyer (approximately 4-7 years PAE) to join our clients' team within their Brisbane or Gold Coast office, as part of the employment and workplace relations group. You will work across a broad range of contentious and advisory employment and industrial relations matters, including:

- EA drafting, bargaining and industrial strategy
- Employment contracts, restraints and confidentiality issues
- Discrimination, bullying and harassment claims

You will have the opportunity to:
- Run your own files appropriate to your level with close partner access
- Manage end-to-end litigation in the FWC, QIRC and Federal jurisdictions
- Draft pleadings, witness statements, correspondence and detailed advices
- Brief and work closely with counsel on complex hearings and mediations
- Assist employer clients to manage risk and implement practical solutions
You’ll work with a varied client base - ASX-listed corporates, government bodies, large employers, professional services firms and sophisticated SMEs - often on matters with significant workplace and reputational impact. Expect a steady, manageable workload of high-quality files (rather than volume churn), including multi-party disputes, substantial underpayment issues and sensitive investigations.
This role suits an Employment Lawyer who enjoys a mix of disputes and advisory work, likes being hands-on with files, and wants a clear, supported pathway into Senior Associate and beyond.
Key Requirements

- Strong drafting and advisory skills, with a commercial, solutions-focused approach
- Confidence managing client relationships and running matters appropriate to your level
- A team-oriented mindset and interest in mentoring junior lawyers and graduates over time
- Genuine desire to build a long-term career in employment law within a strong platform
