Workshop Service Technician | Smithfield, NSW | $45–$55/hr + OT
Monday to Friday | 8:00am – 4:00pm (adaptable)

A well‑established equipment specialist is seeking an experienced Workshop Service Technician to join their Smithfield team. Working in a fully equipped workshop, you'll be responsible for preparing, servicing and repairing a wide range of mobile plant and materials handling equipment before delivery to customers across NSW.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified mechanic looking for consistent hours, strong overtime earnings and a stable long‑term position. The business is also open to candidates between FIFO swings, shutdowns or project work.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare new and used equipment for customer delivery
- Conduct servicing, maintenance and repairs on a variety of mobile plant and machinery
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Install and upgrade components to improve equipment performance and reliability
- Complete workshop inspections and quality checks
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Ensure all work is completed safely and to manufacturer standards
Equipment You'll Be Working On
- Forklifts
- Wheel loaders
- Excavators (up to 50 tonnes)
- Moxy dump trucks
- Bobcats and skid steers
- Other civil and mobile plant equipment
About You
- Trade qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic or equivalent
- Experience working on forklifts, mobile plant or civil equipment
- Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and within a workshop team
- Safety‑focused with high attention to detail
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Full Australian working rights
