Our St George-based accounting and taxation practice provides strategic accounting, taxation and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients, including individuals, businesses, property investors, family groups, trusts and self-managed superannuation funds.

As our firm continues to grow and a senior partner transitions towards retirement, an exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team and play a key role in servicing clients, mentoring staff and contributing to the future success of the practice.

This position is ideal for an accountant who enjoys working directly with clients, solving complex tax issues and developing trusted adviser relationships, while being supported within a collaborative and professional team environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, partnerships, trusts and SMSFs.

- Manage a diverse portfolio of business and high-net-worth clients.

- Provide advice on complex taxation matters including Division 7A, Capital Gains Tax, Fringe Benefits Tax and small business tax issues.

- Liaise directly with clients, responding to queries and providing proactive business and taxation support.

- Communicate with regulatory bodies including the ATO and ASIC on behalf of clients.

- Review work completed by junior accountants and provide coaching, training and mentorship.





- Assist with business advisory engagements and identify opportunities to add value to clients.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

- Minimum 5 years' experience within an Australian public practice accounting firm.

- CPA, CA or IPA qualification (or close to completion).

- Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance requirements.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.

- Exceptional communication and client relationship management skills.

- A high level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.

- Experience with some or all of the following:

- Xero

- Xero Tax

- Xero Practice Manager (XPM)

- MYOB

- QuickBooks

- Business Fitness Active Ledger & Workpapers

- Microsoft Office Suite
