The Role

Are you passionate about driving food safety and quality standards while promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement? We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Quality Systems Coordinator to join our team in Bairnsdale. Reporting to the Food Safety and Quality Manager, the duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

- Ensure compliance with BRCGS standards, customer requirements, and all relevant food safety regulations (local, national, and international).
- Maintain up‑to‑date documentation and implement regulatory and customer‑driven standards.
- Develop, implement, and oversee food safety and quality assurance programs across all stages of production.
- Conduct internal audits, inspections, and manage corrective and preventive actions.
- Identify food safety and quality risks; develop mitigation strategies and response protocols.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on food safety procedures, regulatory compliance, and customer expectations.
- Lead a culture of continuous improvement by updating policies, procedures, and leveraging new technologies.




- Ensure controlled, accessible information management via systems like SharePoint.
- Contribute to sustainability initiatives by promoting responsible environmental practices.
- Model and promote workplace safety, actively identifying and resolving hazards.
- Support a strong safety culture by adhering to and promoting safe work systems.
- Where applicable, lead teams by setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and fostering accountability.
- Other ad hoc duties as directed.

The Person

You’ll play a key role in upholding our commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. To thrive in this position, you’ll bring a mix of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset. You will also have the following skills and experience:

- Degree in food safety or equivalent.
- Proven experience in food safety, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance within the food industry.
- Robust working knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, and other food safety standards.
- Skilled in conducting risk assessments and driving corrective/preventative actions.
- Excellent communicative skills both verbal and written.
- Proactive, solution‑focused, and committed to continuous improvement.
- A strong advocate for workplace health, safety, and environmental responsibility.
