About us
CQ Health's Workforce and Organisation Capability division is responsible for supporting and strengthening the organisation's people and culture. It leads key workforce functions including attraction and retention, learning and development, performance and discipline, change management, safety, wellbeing, and staff engagement.
Our unit is made up of around 40 HR professionals who work across CQ Health to deliver responsive, client-focused human resource services that support both staff and management and help ensure the workforce is well supported and effective.
About the role
- Be a driving force behind safer workplaces by shaping and continuously improving Work Health and Safety, wellbeing, rehabilitation, and Return to Work programs and initiatives.
- Get out and about across the Health Service, coordinating audits, inspections, risk assessments, and compliance activities to keep our workplaces safe and aligned with legislation and best practice.
- Take the lead when it matters most—support serious incident investigations, uncover the "why," and help implement meaningful improvements that make a lasting difference.
- Share your expertise by coaching, advising, and empowering managers, staff, and Health and Safety Representatives through practical guidance, engaging workshops, and capability-building activities.
About you
- Know your way around Work Health and Safety legislation, regulations, and best practice.
- Love solving problems,
with experience investigating incidents, identifying risks, conducting audits, and finding smarter, safer ways of working.
- Have a passion for helping people, with experience in injury management and rehabilitation that supports positive, sustainable return-to-work outcomes.
- Bring qualifications in Work Health and Safety or injury management (highly regarded but not essential—we'd still love to hear from you!).
What we offer
Total remuneration value of up to $134,984 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $54.83 - $59.66 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
