As the Koorie Student Support Officer within our First Peoples Culinary Program, you'll support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students throughout their learning journey. Working alongside students, Community, educators and support services, you'll help create a culturally safe environment where students feel connected, supported and empowered to succeed.

About the Role

Every student's journey is different. In this role, you'll walk alongside students, helping them navigate challenges, celebrate achievements and connect with opportunities throughout their studies.

You'll be a trusted point of contact for current and future students, providing guidance, advocacy and practical support. Working closely with the Kitjarra team and First Peoples Education staff, you'll contribute to a positive, culturally safe and connected student experience across the First Peoples Culinary Program.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through enrolment, onboarding and study pathways.
- Providing culturally informed advice, advocacy and individual student support.
- Assisting students to access wellbeing, learning and community support services.
- Building strong relationships with Community,



educators and internal support teams.
- Coordinating activities and initiatives to strengthen student engagement and connection to campus life.

About You

You are a culturally aware and community minded person who enjoys supporting others to achieve their goals. You build trust through genuine relationships and understand the importance of culturally safe and welcoming experiences for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

Whether your experience comes from education, community services, wellbeing or another community focused setting, you'll bring a genuine commitment to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to succeed.

You’ll bring:

- Experience supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, students or communities.
- Strong relationship building and communication skills.
- A collaborative approach and ability to work across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Sound problem-solving skills and the ability to support students through complex situations.
- Knowledge of local Community connections, education pathways or student support services will be highly regarded.

Salary Range

PACCT 4 | $71,946.00 - $76,010.00 + Superannuation (Pro-Rata)
