Disability Support Worker – Casual Complex Behaviour Support

As a Disability Support Worker at Classy Life, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support to a participant requiring experienced and consistent support.

This role is suited to an experienced Disability Support Worker who is confident supporting individuals with complex behaviours, psychosocial disability and mental health needs. You will play an significant role in supporting the participant to maintain their independence, achieve their goals and engage in meaningful activities.

Some of your duties will include:

Supporting daily living activities and personal care

Medication assistance

Meal preparation and domestic duties

Supporting community access and social participation

Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies

Implementing strategies outlined within the participant’s Behaviour Support Plan

Completing progress notes, incident reporting and required documentation

Following established support plans, risk management strategies and escalation procedures

Working collaboratively with the participant, their support network and the Classy Life team

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Demonstrated experience supporting participants with complex and challenging behaviours

- Experience supporting participants with psychosocial disability and mental health needs





- Experience implementing Behaviour Support Plans and following positive behaviour support strategies

- Understanding of trauma-informed practice and person-centred support

- Ability to remain calm, professional and solution-focused during challenging situations

- Ability to work independently and follow support plans, procedures and escalation pathways

- A genuine commitment to supporting people to achieve their goals and live their best life

- Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle (essential)

- Flexibility to work across a 24/7 rotating roster, including days, evenings, sleepovers and weekend shifts

- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (HLTAID011)

- NDIS Worker Screening Check

- Working With Children Check

- Ability to support participants with personal care and domestic duties in a respectful manner

- Capacity to meet the physical requirements of the role, including manual handling tasks

- Good computer, communication and interpersonal skills

Due to the individual needs, preferences and dignity considerations of the participant, male Support Workers are preferred for this position.
