Workplace, Tourism, Science and Innovation – Cape York QLD
Imagine working where two World Heritage wonders meet—the Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef. Based in Diwan, near Cape Tribulation, this Ranger role offers the chance to work in one of Australia's most spectacular natural environments while contributing to the protection of nationally significant parks.
You'll be part of a passionate team working alongside Traditional Owners and Joint Management partners to care for Country, support conservation outcomes and enhance visitor experiences. With a diverse mix of field work, project delivery and stakeholder engagement, no two days are the same.
If you're looking for a role that combines purpose, adventure, teamwork and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on Queensland's natural and cultural heritage, this could be the perfect fit.
As a Ranger (OO4), you will support the Ranger in Charge in delivering a broad range of park management activities across Daintree National Park (CYPAL) in partnership with Joint Management partners and Traditional Owners.
Your work will include fire, weed and pest management, infrastructure maintenance, compliance activities, visitor management,
natural and cultural resource projects, and emergency response operations. You'll help coordinate work programs, contribute to project delivery, maintain records and reporting systems, and assist with supervising staff, volunteers and students. This hands‑on role requires strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills, along with the ability to work safely and effectively in a dynamic outdoor environment.
You'll build positive relationships with visitors, stakeholders and First Nations partners while helping to protect significant environmental and cultural values.
Experience in land management, conservation, natural resource management or a related field will be highly regarded. A current unrestricted manual driver's licence is mandatory, and relevant qualifications in land management are desirable but not essential. This role is ideal for someone who is adaptable, motivated and passionate about conservation, cultural partnerships and working in one of Queensland's most iconic landscapes.
Applications will remain current for 12 months.
