CN - Rockhampton - Acute Care Team (Adult)

Rockhampton Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse (Grade 6) to join the Acute Care Team at Rockhampton Mental Health for a four‑week contract running from 17 August to 13 September 2026. This is a full‑time position offering $73.35 to $80.94 per hour, working 76 hours per fortnight across a mix of day and night shifts. The successful candidate will bring mental health nursing expertise to a busy acute care workplace, supporting adults through assessment, triage, and clinical care in a regional Queensland setting.

- Four‑week contract with flexible shift patterns including weekends and on‑call availability
- $73.35 to $80.94 per hour, with shared accommodation provided and domestic travel reimbursement up to $200 each way
- Opportunity to work in acute mental health care with a structured team in a Modified Monash Model MM2 location

Preferred Requirements





- Current mental health nursing experience, with demonstrated competence in acute care settings
- Proven ability to perform triage assessment and prioritise clinical needs effectively
- Current driver's licence (mandatory for this role)
- Willingness to work a rotating roster including nights and weekends, with agreement to maintain an 8-hour break between shifts
- Ability to work with manual timesheets and comply with Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service protocols

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent, with current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Mental health nursing qualification or post‑graduate study in mental health care
- General Criminal History Check clearance (required prior to commencement)
