First established in 1976, JC Butko Engineering is a successful and highly respected multi-faceted design, engineering, fabrication, and construction company, specialising in stainless steel, mild steel, pipework, tanks, hoppers, conveyors, structural steel site installations, laser and water jet cutting, CNC press work, and CNC machining.

Based in Wodonga on the NSW-Victorian border with an additional workshop in Albury, we are a family-run business celebrating 50 years of quality and capability in 2026.

An opportunity currently exists for an experienced QA professional to join our operations team with an immediate start.

The ideal candidate will have:

- A background in steel fabrication or heavy engineering
- 2 - 4 years’ experience in a quality assurance role within a similar environment
- Knowledge of quality systems and their practical application
- The ability to read and understand drawings (structural, mechanical, and piping)
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with workshop teams and project managers
- Competency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Flexible person who is prepared to take on a wide variety of tasks with a high level of enthusiasm and passion
- A Welding Inspector qualification (CSWIP, IWI, or equivalent) is highly regarded but not essential

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in maintaining and continually improving company accreditations,



including:

- ISO 9001:2016 Quality management systems
- AS/NZS ISO 3836.2:2023 Quality requirements for fusion welding
- AS/NZS 5131:2016 Structural steelwork - Fabrication and erection
- Government Steel Fabrication Specifications

- Conduct QA inspections during fabrication and upon project completion
- Prepare and maintain quality documentation, including PQP's, ITP's, weld procedures, and MDR submissions
- Coordinate welder qualifications with team members and external testing providers
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant Australian and International codes and standards
- Assist with internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives
- Liaise with project managers and third-party inspectors as required
- Coordinate equipment repairs and calibrations
