Chew Chew Bistro is seeking an experienced Chef and/or Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team on a full-time basis. Based in Palmwoods, Queensland, this role is central to delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our guests. You will play a key part in maintaining our high standards of food quality, presentation, and service, whilst working in a fast-paced hospitality environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate culinary professional to contribute to a thriving venue and make a real impact on our diners' experiences.

Key responsibilities

Preparing, cooking, and plating dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistency with our menu specifications and culinary vision

Managing food preparation

Monitoring food quality, freshness, and presentation throughout service

Collaborating with the kitchen team to meet service demands during peak periods

Assisting with menu development, recipe testing, and food costing where applicable

Receiving and storing deliveries, managing inventory, and minimising food waste

What we're looking for

Proven experience working as a Chef or Cook in a qualified kitchen environment, ideally within a hospitality or restaurant setting

Strong culinary skills with the ability to prepare a variety of dishes to a high standard

Comprehensive knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices, and health regulations

Excellent organisational and time management skills,



with the ability to work efficiently during busy service periods

A passion for quality food and continuous improvement in culinary techniques

Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with a positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues

Experience with modern kitchen equipment and cooking techniques
