The Role

You will be part of the team who is responsible for undertaking a wide range of maintenance and construction tasks, usually within the road reserve, including drainage, concreting, paving, earthworks and asphalting.

Duties Include

Operating a range of plant associated with maintenance and construction activities, which may include, grader, tractor & combination roller, excavator, backhoe, skid steer and water truckEnsuring signage is set up as per appropriate traffic guidance scheme designsEnsuring the worksite is meeting all required safety and OH&S; requirementsEnsuring the routine servicing and maintenance of plant to ensure secure and productive operationPerforming event traffic management, including on weekends as requiredUndertaking works with a focus on quality, safety, customer requirements and cost

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Skills and experience in road maintenance or civil construction workExperience safely operating a range of plant including trucks, water cart, rollers, tractors,



skid steers and/or other civil construction machineryAbility to effectively maintain a safe and efficient worksite, including an understanding of the basic Occupational Health & Safety principles and practicesThe ability to work in a team and under direction, with a strong focus on customer serviceSound communications skills and a proven ability to maintain both written and electronic recordsExperience with traffic control or work zone safety practices

This Role Requires

A pre-employment medicalA satisfactory police records checkA current driver’s licence with Heavy Rigid (HR) endorsementConstruction Induction Card, formerly known as Red CardA current worksite traffic management and traffic controller’s certificate will be highly regarded

Standard work hours are Monday – Friday 7.00am – 4pm (Hours may vairy depending on operational needs) and works a 9 day working fortnight (fortnightly RDO). The role is based at the City’s Adam Street depot in Golden Square where you will travel out to site to service the City of Greater Bendigo area.
