We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Farm Manager to take ownership of our farm operations at Peats Ridge Farm. This hands‑on leadership role is responsible for managing day‑to‑day activities, leading and developing staff, ensuring high standards of animal welfare, and driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure maximum productivity and liveability from broiler farms
- Meet key performance indicators and maintain safe adherence to standards
- Involvement in set‑up, chick placement, grow out, pick up, and clean out operations.
- Experience with SQF Quality Standards, Bio Security, WHS Systems, Environmental Management Systems (EMS), Chain of responsibility policies and procedures (CoR)
- Able to work a flexible roster.
- Ensure birds are grown to all required internal and external welfare and compliance requirements.
- Managing & working to budgets.
Required Skills:
- Previous experience in livestock management
- Commitment to ensuring a protected work environment and active promotion of safe working practices on the job
- Current driver’s license (ability to drive a tractor where appliable)
- Strong leadership capabilities
- Experience in the poultry industry (desirable but not essential)
- Cert III in Poultry Processing (or willingness to obtain)
