Summary

Do you have a Diploma of Electronics and Communications Engineering? We have an exciting position for you as a Radio Technician within our team.

We are looking for a highly motivated, Diploma qualified individual to help us install and maintain our vital Air Traffic Control and Aviation Rescue and Firefighting systems.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to travel to regional and metropolitan sites to support operations, deliver technical expertise, and build strong working relationships with key stakeholders.

The Role & The Team

In this role you will be part of a high performing team who are responsible for carrying out maintenance and installation activities on critical air traffic control and aviation rescue and firefighting systems, ensuring the operational safety and integrity of the Australian national airways system.

As a member of this team, you would be responsible for:

- Performance of time sensitive preventive and corrective maintenance, and project installation activities in accordance with prescribed processes and procedures.
- Maintaining an awareness and understanding of the impact that work undertaken can have on Airservices systems.
- Maintaining effective working relationships with other Airservices staff to ensure effective coordination of all activities in support of organisational objectives.
- Timely and accurate data entry into the maintenance management systems.
- Taking part in the implementation of enterprise governance systems and policies, including safety, environmental, work health and safety, risk, and compliance.
- Promoting workplace health and safety and contributing to a safe working environment.




- Actively identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of service delivery and work practices.
- Undertaking other tasks as directed by Team Leader or other senior staff.

The Person

The successful applicant will have:

- Diploma of Electronics and Communications Engineering, or equivalent
- A strong commitment to working in a team environment with a focus on delivering the highest level of customer service.
- The ability to develop knowledge and understanding of the policies, procedures, and legislation relevant to the position.
- A demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise, organise, and perform activities with limited guidance over time, for cost effective outcomes.
- Ability to develop knowledge and experience performing maintenance and installation activities on electronic systems such as, VHF/UHF/HF communications, satellite and terrestrial bearer systems, various radio navigation systems, (NDB, DME, VOR, ILS etc) and basic networking.

The following qualifications are essential to be considered for this role.

- Diploma of Electronics and Communications Engineering, or equivalent
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence

Desirable

- ACMA registered cablers licence
- First Aid / CPR
- Restricted Electrical Licence

The position on offer is for Electronics Technical Officer - Radio, Band 3.
