There is an exciting opportunity for a Transitional Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Practitioner to join the Ryde Hospital team.

You will be using your advanced clinical expertise to deliver exceptional patient care and lead innovation. You will be working shifts that consist of mornings and evenings across 7 days (no nights).

Where you'll be working

Ryde Hospital is havingan incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community.

The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more.

Construction commenced in early 2023,



and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely.

What you'll be doing
The NP role includes the assessment and management of patients using nursing knowledge and skills and may include but is not limited to initiation of diagnostic investigations, prescribing of medications and direct referral of patients to other health care professionals.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

- Registered Authorised Nurse Practitioner with AHPRA or Registered Nurse undertaking or willing to enrol in a Tertiary Master's Program for Nurse Practitioner to be completed within 3 years. Minimum of 3 years fulltime equivalent advanced nursing practice during the last six years appropriate to the specialty area (or working towards within the next 3 years). In addition the applicant must have an approved postgraduate qualification relevant to the specialty and working towards an NP Masters.
- Advanced nursing skills and proven competency in geriatric nursing as well as extensive knowledge and expertise in complex client centred assessment, management and consultancy
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in practice development activities, including mentoring/coaching, education, research translation, policy development and quality improvement.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced computer skills and use of software programs to develop and support research and education.
- Demonstrated ability to consult appropriately, work autonomously as well as work within a multidisciplinary team across emergency care and the acute hospital setting
