We are seeking a dedicated and organised Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join the team at Kembla Street Dental in Wollongong, NSW. This is a flexible full-time/part-time/casual position that offers the perfect opportunity to work in a dynamic dental practice environment. You will play a vital role in ensuring our practice runs smoothly, providing exceptional patient care and support to our dental professionals. This role is essential to maintaining the high standards of service and professionalism that our patients expect from Kembla Street Dental.
What you'll be doing
As a Dental Assistant/Receptionist, your key responsibilities will include:
- Greeting patients warmly and professionally, managing reception desk duties and maintaining a welcoming practice environment
- Scheduling appointments and managing the appointment book efficiently to optimise practice workflow
- Processing patient payments, managing invoicing and handling financial transactions accurately
- Assisting dentists during clinical procedures by preparing instruments, materials and equipment as required
- Taking and processing patient X-rays under appropriate supervision
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and dental charts
- Sterilising and maintaining dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols
- Providing chairside support to dental professionals during patient treatments
- Managing patient communication and following up on appointments or treatment plans
- Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic practice environment
What we're looking for
Receptionist with D4W experience (preferred) and a Dental Assistant. To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Formal qualification or certification in dental assisting/reception highly regarded.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and team members.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and hygiene.
- Experience in a dental practice environment is highly desirable, although training will be provided to the right candidate.
- Proficiency with dental practice management software preferrably D4W and Microsoft Office applications.
- A friendly, patient-focused approach to patient care.Reliability and flexibility, with the ability to work as part of a cohesive team.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is advantageous
