About The Role

Spencer Corporate Travel Australia is looking for an experienced and hands-on Finance professional to lead our financial operations as Finance Manager, and play a key role in the continued growth of our business.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll oversee the full finance function—from financial reporting and forecasting to operational accounting, cash management, and business partnering. You'll also serve as the finance lead for Tramada, our travel management system, ensuring the integrity of revenue recognition, commissions, and financial data across the business.

You'll enjoy balancing strategic business partnering with hands-on operational finance, process improvement, and team leadership while collaborating with colleagues across Finance, Operations, FP&A;, Technology, and Corporate Accounting.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Analysis

- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Prepare accurate financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Deliver meaningful financial insights and reporting to senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, company accounting policies, and internal controls.




- Coordinate external audit requirements and corporate reporting.

Business Partnering & Financial Planning

- Partner with business leaders to support operational and commercial decision-making.
- Lead quarterly forecasting and support the annual budgeting process.
- Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Support joint venture accounting and distributable cash calculations where applicable.

Operational Finance

- Oversee Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, cash management, and treasury activities.
- Ensure accurate billing, collections, supplier payments, and client credit management.
- Review commission transfers and oversee reconciliations between client trust and administrative bank accounts.
- Resolve commission, billing, and payment issues in partnership with operational teams.
- Supervise outsourced finance resources supporting transactional accounting activities.

Tramada Financial Ownership

- Act as the finance subject matter expert for Tramada.
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition, commission processing, supplier accounting, and reconciliations.
- Maintain financial integrity between Tramada, the ERP, and the general ledger.
- Support month-end accounting for deferred revenue, commissions receivable, accruals, and related balances.
- Improve financial workflows, reporting, controls,



and system integrations.
- Partner with Operations to resolve booking, ticketing, billing, and invoicing issues impacting financial results.

Process Improvement & Controls

- Strengthen financial controls and improve accounting processes.
- Maintain customer and supplier master data to support accurate reporting.
- Collaborate with Technology, Data, and Operations teams on finance system enhancements.
- Research and resolve complex accounting issues while applying sound professional judgment.

Leadership

- Lead, coach, and develop outsourced finance team members and future hires.
- Foster a cooperative, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders and colleagues across the organization.

What You’ll Bring

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CPA or CA designation (or equivalent) preferred.
- Progressive experience in financial accounting and reporting, including month-end and year-end close.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and financial controls.
- Experience preparing forecasts, budgets, and financial analysis.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams, including outsourced or offshore resources.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and partner across the business.

Bonus Points For

- Experience within the travel industry.
- Experience using Tramada or another back-end travel platform.
- Exposure to commission accounting, trust accounting, or treasury processes.
