Cloud Architect (Azure & Hybrid Infrastructure)

Are you an experienced Cloud Architect with a passion for designing secure, enterprise-scale cloud environments? Our client is seeking a Cloud Architect to play a key role in the design and delivery of complex hybrid cloud solutions supporting mission-critical environments within the Australian defence sector.
This is an opportunity to work on large-scale cloud transformation programs, helping organisations modernise legacy infrastructure and accelerate their cloud adoption journey while ensuring the highest standards of security, resilience, and compliance.
The Opportunity As a Cloud Architect, you will be responsible for shaping cloud strategy, designing Azure-based solutions, and leading the migration of enterprise infrastructure into modern cloud platforms. Working closely with engineering, security, Dev Ops, and delivery teams, you will drive the adoption of best-practice cloud architectures and governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design and execution of large-scale migrations from on-premises environments to Microsoft Azure.
- Architect secure, scalable, and high-performing Azure solutions.
- Develop cloud adoption strategies, landing zones, and governance frameworks.
- Conduct infrastructure assessments and define migration road maps.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, security, and Dev Ops teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Establish and maintain cloud architecture standards and best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams.




- Engage with stakeholders to align cloud initiatives with business objectives.

What You'll Bring Cloud Architecture & Strategy

- Strong experience across Microsoft Azure services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
- Knowledge of Azure Well-Architected Framework and Cloud Adoption Framework.
- Experience designing hybrid and enterprise-scale cloud environments.

Essential Requirements

- NV1 Security Clearance (active).
- 8+ years' experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure, or enterprise technology environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex cloud transformation initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and documentation skills.
- Experience working within Agile and Dev Ops delivery models.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (highly regarded).
