Ahrens Mining & Industrial Services was established over 30 years ago. During this time, the company has gained an outstanding reputation for supplying welding and fabrication services to the petro-chemical and mining industry within Western Australia.
The company employs over 100 highly skilled employees as boilermakers, pipe fitters and welders, with over 35 years of experience in the construction industry. This dedicated workforce includes a technical support team, ensuring all projects are handled in a professional manner without compromising quality, safety or the environment.
We are seeking experienced Full time and Casual workers in the following trades to join our team for workshop and site work: Welders, Pipe Fitters, Metal Fabricators, Mechanical Fitters, Electronic Instrument Maintenance Technicians, Pressure Welders, Sheet Metal Workers, Metal Machinists, Mechanical Engineering Technicians, Boilermakers, Painters, Mechanical Engineers and Carpenters .
Welders, Pipe Fitters, Metal Fabricators, Mechanical Fitters, Mechanical Engineers, and Carpenters must be experienced in both construction and maintenance projects. Pressure Welders must be experienced in welding and repairing pipes. Mechanical Engineers must have a relevant Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years work experience.
Equipment repairs include:
- Lathes
- Flange facing
- Pipe Beveller
- CNC
Salary $78,000 - $85,000.
Minimum Requirements :
- Trade Certificate
- Experience working within this industry
- Must pass a Medical and Drug Screen
- Be reliable, punctual and hard working
- Clear understanding of Safety Regulations & Safe Work Practices

We are also seeking experienced Production and Mechanical Engineers to join our team and carry out the coordination of design, construction and maintenance of equipment and machines.
Responsibilities of this role include:
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
- Inspect and monitor plant equipment as required
- Participate in shift/swing hand over prior to finishing work to ensure other employees are aware of all relevant information
- Project information to determine functions and responsibilities of workers to identify areas of duplication and ensure labour utilisation is at maximum capacity
- Analyse operational data, production schedules and costs to determine optimum worker and equipment efficiencies
- Seek continuous improvement, develop recent skills, and promote efficiency
- Familiarize with policies, safety, and reporting systems for compliance
- Establishing standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection and maintenance according to engineering principles and safety regulations
- Carrying out inspections to ensure optimum performance is maintained
- Directing the maintenance and coordinating the requirements for new designs, surveys and maintenance schedules
- Undertake all other reasonable tasks and duties that are peripheral to your role and within your skill and ability,
as directed
Essential Skills & Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
Salary $100,000 - $120,000.
We are also looking for a Fitter & Turner to join our team. Duties will include:
- Studying drawings and specifications to determine materials, methods, and machine settings
- Cutting, grinding, shaping and machining metal and other materials using specialised machinery and tools
- Setting up and adjusting metalworking machines and equipment
- Fitting fabricated metal parts and assembling mechanical components and subassemblies into machinery and equipment
- Checking finished parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments
- Maintaining, diagnosing faults and repairing mechanical machinery and equipment
- Operating machines such as lathes, milling machines, drills, grinders, and related metalworking equipment
Essential Skills & Experience :
- Relevant trade qualifications / certificates
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
Salary $78,000 - $85,000.
Must have valid working rights in Australia.
