About the role

We have an opportunity for a Project Officer to be part of our Financial Services Program Management, Infrastructure and Assets Command. The role manages and coordinates the development, implementation and evaluation of projects to achieve project outcomes and support the achievement of organisational objectives.

We design, build, and manage some of the most specialised vehicles in Australia, including pursuit vehicles, rescue trucks, highway patrol, prisoner transport units, and unmarked operational vehicles. Our day to day work spans high‑performance cars, 4WDs, utilities, large vans, and medium trucks. Much of our development and validation work is completed in‑house at our dedicated facilities. If you're trade‑qualified with solid, hands‑on experience and you’d like to do more with your technical knowledge, this is your opportunity.

What you’ll be doing

- Capturing and documenting functional requirements for vehicles and related assets
- Developing specifications, design concepts, and managing procurement for specialised vehicles
- Working with manufacturers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders on design, quality, and delivery

- Validating delivered products against specifications and project requirements

What we’re looking for

- Strong automotive background with deep technical knowledge
- Excellent organisational and administrative capability
- Ability to clearly explain technical information to non-technical audiences
- Experience communicating with suppliers or manufacturers at a technical level
- Formal project experience is highly regarded but not essential

At NSWPF our people have access to a range of benefits that help balance life at work and at home. Some of the advantages available when you join the NSWPF include:

- flexible work options
- annual leave loading
