About the role

We are seeking an experienced HSE ISO Officer to join our team on a full-time basis in Mackay and onsite operations in outback Queensland. This is a critical position within our organisation, responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining our health, safety, and environmental management systems in accordance with ISO standards and relevant regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will play a vital role in protecting our workforce, assets, and environment whilst ensuring our operations remain compliant with industry standards. Key responsibilities

- Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental management systems aligned with ISO standards and relevant legislation
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Identify hazards and assess risks across operations, recommending and implementing appropriate control measures
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses,



documenting findings and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Provide HSE training and induction programmes to all staff, ensuring competency and awareness across the organisation
- Manage HSE documentation, records, and reporting systems to maintain accurate and accessible compliance evidence
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders regarding HSE matters and compliance certifications
- Monitor and analyse HSE performance metrics, developing strategies for continuous improvement
- Support the development and review of HSE policies and procedures to reflect best practices and regulatory changes
- Collaborate with operational teams to embed HSE culture and promote proactive safety behaviours

What we’re looking for

- Diploma or degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline
- Current ISO 45001 (or equivalent OH&S; management system) certification or demonstrated competency
- Current ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems) certification or equivalent knowledge
- Current ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) certification or equivalent knowledge
- Minimum 3-5 years’ professional HSE experience, preferably within the drilling, mining, resources, or energy sector




- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation including the Work Health and Safety Act and Environmental Protection regulations
- Proven experience implementing and auditing ISO management systems
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills at all organisational levels
- Demonstrated ability to investigate incidents and implement effective corrective actions
- Robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail
- Experience developing and delivering training programmes
- Proficiency with HSE management software and Microsoft Office applications
- A commitment to continuous learning and staying current with HSE best practices and regulatory developments
